GirlTechnician doesn't like SONOS, GT LOVES SONOS!
If you don't already know, GT is a singer/songwriter on the side - and has a pretty strong investment in home stereo equipment. Her favorite components are SONOS and her DYNAUDIO FOCUS 220 speakers. The Dyns reproduce sound that will make you cry. A CD or audio-file quality source is best to make them emote for you, but SONOS gives them lots of great sound and variety. Yeah. LOVE MY SYSTEM.
SO...of course the GT friends & family always want to know why I love my set up, and in particular, are intrigued by Sonos. Almost without fail, a night at my place causes them to go out and buy their own Sonos setup. I just wish they'd buy it from the GT store -- but that's another story altogether.
So here's my short review and recommendation:
The first best thing about Sonos is that it works! And it works exceptionally well. Most of my friends and clients, want to extend their music throughout the house. Here are the top issues I generally hear:
There are so many scenarios, like the ones to the right - and my answer is "YES, you can - with Sonos"!
I like the Sonos solution because it allows total control over literally ANY music I have regardless of if I own it, subscribe to it or it's free on the web. This solution allows you to leverage EVERYTHING you have and have access to.
You can wirelessly stream any music in your home. Sonos has done a great job describing their system and set up on their website, (www.sonos.com) so I won't regerg it here. I will simply endorse it FULLY. I didn't get a product donation, I voted with my wallet. I have this system in my home and in my vacation home.
The other GREAT thing about Sonos, is that they embraced the iPhone and the iPad immediately. While they offer their own controllers, they understood the power of offering their controller capabilities through Apple's very popular personal hardware. They also offer the controller software for PC, Mac, and Android systems.
You can get the Sonos system at most electronic retailers, but why? When you can buy it right here at the GirlTechnican store!! Support GT :)
"I have a personal collection of music that I have acquired on iTunes - it would be so cool if I could hear that throughout the entire house and outside too!, how do I do that GirlTechnician?"
"I am a big fan of internet radio stations as well as Pandora. Can I stream that to my stereo system somehow?"
" Hey GT -- I ripped my CD's and have them digitally backed up onto their PC (or Mac) -- is there a way I can access that from my home stereo?"
"I want to have access to any music, any genre that I want to hear, when I want to hear it - is there a way for me to do that on-demand throughout the house?"
"I like Pandora - can I have that play on my stereo or to I always have to have it on my PC?"
